Reading Time: 4 minutes

Hello New Year and hello to a new 2017 challenge…but first let’s do a quick recap of the books that I read in 2016.

Year In Books Stats Breakdown

In January 2016, I set the goal of reading 60 books, and I am very happy that I surpassed that target by reading 75 books. Overall 2016 was a great year for reading.  I enjoyed the books that I selected to read and review and I loved reviewing books from NetGalley. Yay free books.  I also had so much fun participating in blog tours with my Writerly Yours Bloggers Club friends.

This year I set my reading target for 80 books.  For 2017,  I hope to read more physical books and read more diverse books. I also want to read a few classics in 2017. I set the target last year and only manage to complete one classic and that was The Hobbit.  I believe I am more realistic this year by hoping to read four classics. This month I will pick up with The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoyevsky.   In 2017 I also want to own more books, I will definitely be saving and buying more books this year, and building my collection, especially publications from Caribbean writers.

Did you guys set reading goals? Do you use Goodreads to track your progress? How about your 2017 reading goals?

This week I started reading The Thunder Beneath Us by Nicole Blades.

Happy reading!
