Welcome back to My Jamaica Vignettes. Let’s begin our 2024 Reading Year in Review. This week is about my most read authors of 2024. This list includes 10 authors who I have read more than two of the books this year.

Let’s go.

Most Read Authors of 2024

Vanessa Riley

Vanessa Riley was a new to me author in 2024 and I ended up reading four of her books this year. I read the three books available in the Lady Worthing Mysteries series as well as her 2024 historical romance A Gamble at Sunset. I rated all four books above four stars.

Whitney Hill

Again the first time I read a Whitney Hill book was in 2024 even though I have had her books on my Kindle for a while. I read the Otherside Heat trilogy and I would rate the series an overall 3.5 stars.

Rebekah Weatherspoon

I first read Rebekah’s work a few years ago when Rafe was released. Earlier this year she offered a pay what you can bundle for her ebooks and I bought a few and had a Rebekah Weatherspoon reading weekend it was fun. I read So Sweet (Sugar Baby book one), Fit, and Haven.

Celestine Martin

I saw Celestine Martin promote her Elemental Love series on Twitter and I knew I had to read them. I read all three books that are released and I hope there will be a book four.

Danielle Allen

Curvy Girl Summer by Danielle Allen is one of my favourite contemporary romance books. I also read her shorts including Boo’ed Up for Halloween and Big Nick Energy.

Kennedy Ryan

I fell in love with Kennedy Ryan’s writing in 2024. I read books one and two in the Skyland series and I can’t wait for 2025 to read book three. Before I Let Go is a five-star book.

Jeevani Charika

I was introduced to Jeevani Charika’s (she also writes as Rhoda Baxter) work via NetGalley and I have requested her books on the platform whenever I see them. In 2024, I read Knowing Me, Knowing You and The Winner Bakes All.

Rilzy Adams

Rilzy Adams books are set in the Caribbean and I didn’t find out about her writing until October. For Halloween, I read Boo Thang and then I read Birthday Shot the week after. Two short and sweet stories.

Jane Bettany

I read books two and three in the Violet Brewster Mystery series by Jane Bettany. A solid series that I rate on average 3.5 stars.

Beverly Jenkins

I really thought I would’ve ended up reading more Beverly Jenkins books this year. But I think I will try to read one per month or one every other month in 2025. So many books, so little time. But I am up for the challenge of making time. I read Rebel (Women Who Dare book one) and Through the Storm (The Le Veq Family book one). In January, I hope I will get to book two in The Le Veq Family series.

Who was your most read author? Or better yet who was your favourite new to you author for 2024?

The 2024 year in books continues next week with top book series of the year. I think I will just focus on three series. See you next Sunday.

Happy reading!
