Book Review: Final Fondue by Maya Corrigan

Final Fondue is book three in the five ingredients mystery series, so
I’m late to this great series. I love the chemistry between Val Deniston and her
grandfather. Fun, light cozy mystery with laughter. The whodunit reveal was
really well executed. Not who I suspected.

With any series there is also some time given for fillers from the back stories and this book is no exception. As a first time reader I didn’t quite feel the connection between Val and her boyfriend Gunnar but I assume this was firmly established in the first two books in the series. 

As the title may suggest the book is filled with food, which I love. Val’s grandfather has a column the Codger Cook and Val runs a café. Final Fondue has a post story listing of six 5-ingredient recipes, included of course, two fondue recipe options. 

This book, which I enjoyed, helped me to resolve to not jump into a book series midway. So from now on, I will avoid books that are already well on there way, unless can get all the books in the series and read from book one onwards.
