The first rule of book club: You don’t talk about book club.

Nashville Legends second baseman Gavin Scott’s marriage is in major league trouble. He’s recently discovered a humiliating secret: his wife Thea has always faked the Big O. When he loses his cool at the revelation, it’s the final straw on their already strained relationship. Thea asks for a divorce, and Gavin realizes he’s let his pride and fear get the better of him.

Welcome to the Bromance Book Club.

Distraught and desperate, Gavin finds help from an unlikely source: a secret romance book club made up of Nashville’s top alpha men. With the help of their current read, a steamy Regency titled Courting the Countess, the guys coach Gavin on saving his marriage. But, it’ll take a lot more than flowery words and grand gestures for this hapless Romeo to find his inner hero and win back the trust of his wife.

MJV Book Review of The Bromance Book Club by Lyssa Kay Adams

The Bromance Book Club is a contemporary romance novel. And I liked that it not an insta-love exploration but rather a second chance for a couple that were already married.

I gave the book a three-star rating on Goodreads and this is book 19 in my 2022 reading challenge.

Also, if Goodreads allowed for fractional ratings, I may have bumped this up to 3.5 stars but it wasn’t a four-star read for me.

The novel is dual POV between Gavin and his wife Thea which was nice to get and is always welcomed for romance novels. Additionally, we also got snippets from the romance novel that the book club was reading which was nice treat of a book within a book.

The romantic elements slowly built up in the novel and we get a sweet epilogue set not too far into the future.

This is book one in a series that already has five books. And, I am still on the fence if I want to continue with the series.
