MJV Bookish Thoughts: The September 2024 TBR Vibe

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Welcome back to My Jamaican Vignettes. I fell short with my August 2024 reading list so this month, I am going more with a vibe than specific books.

Even though I am in Jamaica, I am leaning into the fall vibes and for this month I want to read more mystery thrillers, historical mysteries and literary fiction. To be honest, I think I need a break from contemporary romance.

September 2024 TBR Vibes

The mood is for a little bit more mysterious books something that gets me guessing and engaged.

Historical Mysteries

The book that I have in mind is more romance than mystery, I think but it still applies. The Lady Worthing Mysteries series by Vanessa Riley caught my eye and so I want to read book one, Murder in Westminster. And if that goes well I will continue with the Vivian Conroy series, Lady Ashford Investigates. Book two is Last Seen in Santorini.

Mystery Thrillers

Do you remember that I am doing a 2024 reading challenge? Yes, I am and I have been neglecting my prompts. So I think I will read We Lie Here by Rachel Howzell Hall. And if I can get to it I might also read Hungry Ghosts by Kevin Jared Hosein. Hungry Ghosts has probably been on my reading list the longest.

My Physical TBR

For my physical book in September, I want to read She Would Be King, I have had this book for years now and I really should read it.

And that’s the plan, more of an guide than a set TBR. But what about you? Any September reading plans?
