Book review: All The Missing Girls by Megan Miranda

I devoured this amazing mystery. I am in awe. The tale is
told in reverse, which at first I thought impossible, it won’t make sense or
there will plot holes and the ending will be rushed. No. I was dead wrong.

The Missing Girls is written with perfect pace. I was fully engaged. The
layering and the characters who shift from being benign to unreliable and just
how the mystery unfolds, is so good, close to perfection. Definitely will be one of  the “it”
books of 2016.

Nicolette Farrell returns to her home town of Cooley Ridge, a decade after she left to care for and settle her ailing father’s finances. It has also been a decade since Nic’s best friend Corrine disappeared from the small town without a trace. 

The decade-old investigation focused on Nic, her brother Daniel, her boyfriend Tyler, and Corinne’s boyfriend Jackson.

A day after Nic returns to her childhood home, another young woman who is dating Nic’s ex-boyfriend, Tyler goes missing. The missing woman is Annaleise Carter who was also an important part of the investigation in the disappearance of Corrine 10 years earlier. 

The story is told backwards—Day 15 to Day 1—from the time Annaleise goes missing.

The tale is filled with small town suspicions, secrets and decades old lies, dislikes and grudges.

This book gave me a book hangover, I enjoyed it so much and was so captivated by the story, I took a whole week break from reading. 

In my reading challenge this is book 47 of 60. I am at 78% of the 2016 challenge and 22 books ahead of schedule so I can manage a book break.
