It is Wednesday. Jamaica is safe, and I am feeling thankful and at the same time distressed about the strange responses people have had to Hurricane Matthew. But I won’t rant about about the bizarre statements I heard yesterday when I returned to work or the memes I have I seen online. I will say this, Jamaica is no more blessed by gods or anything than any place else, a hurricane is storm system, a natural occurrence that all of us in the Caribbean have experienced, no nation is excluded based on religion and any other crap. Expressing gratitude for the blessings and grace we have does not require any comparison to the sufferings of others. Be thankful, that is all that is required.

My thoughts are with our Caribbean neighbours in Haiti, Cuba and The Bahamas.

Now today is about books, and I started reading, The Survivor’s Guide to Family Happiness yesterday and I am only around 18% in (reading on the Kindle app) and I already adore Nina.
