Welcome back to My Jamaican Vignettes. This week, I am sharing a new development in my fitness journey. In July, I started my own modified 75 soft challenge. Let’s discuss.

Modified 75 Soft Challenge

The 75 soft or hard challenge is something I stumbled across on TikTok. But I don’t like rigid rules and strict habit tracking so I have a modified 75 soft challenge that runs until 14 September 2024.

In my version, I walk for 30 minutes each morning, Monday to Friday, the weekends are for rest, relaxation and recreation and reading. I read every day but still, you understand what I mean. While, not strict, I am aim to eat a high protein diet and maintain a calorie deficit each day and eat fruits and vegetables. I am cutting back on sweat treats. And I drink at least 2000 ml of water each day.

My goal weight at the end of the 75 days is 154 pounds and if you recall that was the weight I was back in 2022 when this on and off again fitness journey started.

I think that is manageable.

This week, I also introduced three days of strength training activities using two four-pound dumbbells. I don’t know what the impact of these will be quite yet but I am hoping for the best.

I am writing this post as a sort of public accountability so let’s check back in mid-September and see how far I’ve progressed.

Have you heard of the 75 soft challenge? Would you try it?

Until next Sunday, live with gratitude and be well.
