MJV Holiday Break 2017
Hello,
How are you?
We are on a break. This is a fully decided and specific break for the holidays. I will be back on Sunday 14 January 2018.
Life Update. I am currently
A quick update on my life via the wonderful journal currently list.
Watching: Luther. I started this series last weekend and I am now in series three.
Reading: Nothing, although my currently reading list on Goodreads has three titles, Enemies of the Peace by MK Williams, The Fisherman by Chigozie Obioma and The Reader (Sea of Ink and Gold book one) by Traci Chee. I am not actively reading any single book right now. I skim and I will make my way through a few pages of the three books every few days, however, I am busy. And I am not going to be able to say firmly that I will sit and read and complete any book for the remainder of 2017.
Listening: Booktube discussions on reading woes and reading challenges and Christmas carols.
Planning: 2018 blog posts and holiday magic. I am getting back into the rhythm of blog planning. And I hope to get into the full groove of four posts per month of bookish content along with one Sunday personal essay. Wish me luck. I am also excited about taking this holiday break to enjoy my family and friends.
Feeling: Optimistic.
Loving: Life.
2017 Reading Challenge Update
I started 2017 with an ambitious goal of reading 80 books. I made this goal because last year I managed to read 75 books and the 2016 reading goal was to read 60 books.
Yes. Way too optimistic. So far in 2017, I have read 67 books, that is 84% of my reading goal. And I am happy with this. But I know that I will not be hitting my goal. In fact, I doubt I will be completing any other books this year. I am tired, I need a break.
I am looking forward to time with my family and friends.
For 2018, I’ve already decided to set a more realistic goal of reading 50 books. One book per week is manageable.
How are you doing? Did you set a reading goal for 2017? Have you hit your target yet?
And what are your favourite Christmas traditions? I love drinking sorrel and I love Christmas carols.
Merry Christmas!
See you in January 2018.
