Podcasts I’m Currently Subscribed To

Reading Time: 3 minutes

Welcome back to My Jamaican Vignettes Do you guys remember the MJV Bookish Thoughts podcast failed experiment? I think I managed only two episodes before my personal laptop failed and I gave up and moved on. Today I’m sharing my podcasts that I’m currently subscribed to on Google Podcast.

Current Podcast Subscriptions

I have a minor toxic trait of seeing a clip from a podcast especially on TikTok and adding it to my subscription list and then never listening to it. But these are the podcasts I’ve listened to at least one full episode and enjoyed so they’re still on my list.

Bookish Podcasts

Read or Dead by Book Riot

I’ve been subscribed to Read or Dead for years but I haven’t listened to it consistently after one of the original hosts left the show. Read or Dead by Book Riot is a mystery focused podcast. So if you love whodunnits, thrillers, true crime then you should check it out.

The Big Reveal with Dorothy Koomson

This is a newish podcast by author Dorothy Koomson. I follow Dorothy on Twitter and I have her mystery thriller The Other Husband on my Kindle e-reader ready to dive in during the cooler months. But I haven’t read her books but like her Twitter persona. In 2023 she’s celebrating 20 years in publishing.

Romance In Colour

As the name suggests Romance in Colour is all about romance books by authors of colour. I’m not sure if the podcast is completed and won’t have new episode. I was also introduced to this via Twitter. Author Tati Richardson is one of the co-host and I adored her debut contemporary romance The Build Up.

Crime Writers In Color

This name says it all. Crime writers who are the global majority. It is predominantly African American authors. It’s great if you want to be introduced to new authors who aren’t marketed in mainstream media and publishing platforms. I recently added Esme Addison’s fantasy mystery small town series to my Scribd saved to listen audiobooks because of the podcast.

Lifestyle Podcasts

The Everygirl Podcast

Did you know that The Everygirl has a podcast? I only found out about this a few months ago. I adore the monthly tech backgrounds that they present each month. I love swapping out each month on my work laptop but the podcast offers so much. From period health, seasonal fashion trends, career advice and more.

Soul Career with Lisa Rickards

Soul Career with Lisa Rickards is all about finding a career that makes you feel fulfilled and purpose driven. There are interview features and discussions.

Wellness and Inspiration

To My Sisters

I found To My Sisters via TikTok clips and I subscribed and it is inspirational. The hosts do mention God so if a religious centre isn’t for you then maybe skip this one but it has interesting insights into confidence and belief in self and sisterhood.

The mindbodygreen Podcast

I’ve loved the mindbodygreen content for years now and they have a podcast. The topics are interesting and the guests are diverse but it is all aligned with wellness.

Money Podcasts

The Financial Confessions

I started out by subscribing to the Financial Diet on YouTube and now the ladies have a podcast. The Financial Confessions is all about money, earning it, losing it and spending.

Caribbean Podcasts

PCOS Talk Ja

PCOS Talk Ja discussing living with PCOS. I follow the host Olivia on Twitter. The last time the podcast was updated was at the beginning of summer but if the health issue interests you check it out.

Paradise Perspectives

The is a Caribbean Travel podcast from Riselle also known as The Traveling Island Girl on IG. So for travel tips and recommendations listen to this.
