Do you want to join for a read along? In April and May, I want to make my way through the LeVeq Family series by Beverly Jenkins. There are three books in the series, and I already have books one and three on my Kindle.

The Le Veq Family Series by Beverly Jenkins

In March, I read Rebel by Beverly Jenkins and that book was the story of Drake Le Veq and Valinda Lacy and was introduced to the men of the Le Veq family of New Orleans. While, I enjoyed the romance between Drake and Valinda, I was especially interested in the dynamics between Drake’s older brother Raimond and his wife Sable. So I did a little digging. Meaning I checked Goodreads. And I found that there was an entire series dedicated to the men in the Le Veq family. Book one, Through The Storm is Raimond’s and Sable’s story.

Through The Storm (Le Veq Family Series Book One) by Beverly Jenkins

Through the Storm (LeVeq Family Series book one) was originally published in 1998. The book summary is simple:

Sable, a slave on the run to escape the cruel man she’s been sold to is forced to betray the charming Union officer Raimond LeVeq, who had romanced her and championed her. Brought together again by fate and an arranged marriage, she must try and win the trust of LeVeq–the man she truly loves.

I am enjoying these historical romance that features enslaved people craving out there happy for now in spite of the terrors of enslavement.

Books Two and Three in the LeVeq Family Series

Book two is Winds of the Storm and that’s the book I don’t have yet but I should get by the end of April. That follows the LeVeq brother Arch. Then book three is Captured and that follows Dominic LeVeq.

So, did I spoil the reading experience by reading Rebel first? I don’t think so. Romance books are more about the journey than the destination. We know that romance books hold a promise of an happily ever after or a happy for now at the end. So I am still excited to read these books.
